Ampha Z32 – Pollen Analyzer

Here is how Amphasys’ impedance flow cytometer is analyzing single cells such as pollen. It does so not optically but with electrical current. The absence of optical components reduces set-up times and maintenance to a minimum. This also means that there are no expensive or toxic fluorescent dyes and time-consuming sample preparation procedures.

F-750 Produce Quality Meter

The F-750 Produce Quality Meter uses near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, as developed at Central Queensland University, to estimate quality metrics such as dry matter, Total Soluble Solids (TSS or brix), titratable acidity, and color. Working like a high-powered flashlight, the F-750 sends particles of light into a commodity, then measures the NIR light interactance with molecular components inside of the commodity to quantify user-selected traits.

The F-750 has a wide range of applications, from determining optimal harvest timing by assessing fruit maturity, to providing an objective analysis of produce quality of fruit in packing houses and upon import.

The F-750 is a handheld, fully integrated system, allowing users to operate it out in the orchard or inside the QA lab. Its simple, intuitive user interface makes it easy for anyone to use, while its model building software makes it customizable and versatile.

F-751-Avo Avocado Quality Meter

Based on the original F-750 Produce Quality Meter, is specifically engineered to gauge the maturity of avocados via dry-matter assessment. The instrument is designed to accurately predict percent dry matter with a simple push of the button. Utilizing a wi-fi connection, the data collected using the F-751 Avocado Quality Meter can be seamlessly transferred to a computer for easy analysis and data sharing.

Benefits of the Avocado Quality Meter include a more in-depth avocado model for measuring dry matter, as well as a significantly smaller price tag than the F-750 Produce Quality Meter.

The Avocado Quality Meter also comes with the ability to use Fruit Maps, the free interactive harvest map application co-created by Felix Instruments and Central Queensland University.
